Austroads have recently withdrawn their specification ATS 2210 supply of reinforced concrete pipes which had adopted a conservative and onerous approach to concrete pipe specification for manufacture and supply. Austroads recognise that the industry is committed to the revision of AS/NZS 4058 and have suggested they will now delay republishing the specification until the WS006 Standards Committee complete the review of AS/NZS 4058.
Note that the ATS will still be referenced in some current projects, so caution is required on supply to major road projects to ensure the correct specification is understood.
